Publishing a Single Post to Facebook

Create a listing on RPG Market and automatically publish it to Facebook with one click

What You'll Learn

This guide will show you how to create a professional listing on RPG Market and automatically publish it to Facebook groups. The entire process takes about 5-10 minutes from start to finish.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • Installed the RPG Market Browser Extension (Installation Guide)
  • Signed in to both RPG Market and Facebook in Chrome
  • Photos of your item ready to upload (at least one, up to 10)
  • Basic information about your item (title, description, price, condition)

Step-by-Step Guide

1 Create Your Listing on RPG Market

Go to My Listings → Create Listing on RPG Market.

Fill in the Required Information:

  • Product: Search for and select the product from our database, or create a manual product entry
  • Title: Write a clear, descriptive title (e.g., "Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook 5E - Excellent Condition")
  • Description: Describe the condition, any defects, what's included, etc.
  • Photos: Upload at least one clear photo (more is better - up to 10 allowed)
  • Price: Set your asking price
  • Condition: Select New or Used
  • Grade: Rate the physical condition (Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor)
  • Shipping: Describe your shipping policy and costs

Pro Tip: The more detail you provide, the better your Facebook post will look and the more likely you are to make a sale!

2 Save Your Listing

Click "Save Draft" at the bottom of the form. This saves your listing to RPG Market but doesn't publish it yet.

You'll be taken to your listing's detail page where you can review how it looks.

3 Click "Publish to Facebook"

On your listing's detail page, you'll see a "Publish" button. Click it to open the publish modal.

The modal will show two options:

  • Publish to RPG Market Only: Makes your listing visible on RPG Market
  • Publish to Facebook: Opens Facebook with your listing pre-filled

Click "Publish to Facebook".

The browser extension must be installed and you must be signed in to Facebook for this to work.

4 Extension Auto-Fills Facebook Post

The extension will automatically:

  • Open Facebook in a new tab (or navigate to Facebook if already open)
  • Navigate to the group create post page
  • Fill in the title, description, price, and category
  • Upload your photos in the correct order
  • Add a link back to your RPG Market listing

Note: The auto-fill process takes 10-15 seconds. Don't close the tab or navigate away until it's complete!

5 Review and Publish on Facebook

Review the auto-filled information to make sure everything looks good. You can make any final edits if needed:

  • Adjust the title or description
  • Change the category if needed
  • Modify the price (though we recommend keeping it consistent)
  • Set your location and delivery options

When everything looks good, click Facebook's "Publish" or "Post" button.

Congratulations! Your listing is now published on both platforms:

  • Facebook: Visible to Facebook group members

What Happens Next?

When someone is interested in your item:

  • Facebook users will see the link to your RPG Market listing in the post
  • They can message you on Facebook or purchase directly through RPG Market
  • All purchases are processed through RPG Market's secure checkout system
  • You'll receive notifications on both platforms when someone shows interest

Tips for Successful Facebook Posts

Great Photos

  • Use natural lighting or a well-lit room
  • Show the item from multiple angles
  • Include close-ups of any damage or wear
  • Make sure the first photo is the most appealing

Compelling Descriptions

  • Be honest about condition and flaws
  • Mention what's included (maps, dice, etc.)
  • Add relevant keywords (edition, publisher, etc.)
  • Highlight rare or unique features

Pricing Strategy

  • Research similar items on both platforms
  • Price competitively but fairly
  • Consider bundling related items
  • Leave room for negotiation if desired

Timing

  • Post during peak hours (evenings, weekends)
  • Consider posting to multiple relevant Facebook groups
  • Be responsive to inquiries within 24 hours
  • Update or re-share if the item doesn't sell quickly

Common Questions

Currently, the extension publishes to one location at a time (a single group). However, you can:

  • Click "Publish to Facebook" multiple times, selecting a different group each time
  • Or manually share the Facebook post to multiple groups after it's created
  • Check out our Bulk Publishing Guide for publishing multiple listings at once

You have two options:

  1. Update on RPG Market: Edit your listing on RPG Market, then click "Update Facebook Post" to refresh the Facebook version with your changes
  2. Edit Directly on Facebook: Go to your Facebook post and edit it manually (note: this won't update the RPG Market version)

We recommend option #1 to keep everything synchronized.

All purchases should be completed on RPG Market for maximum buyer and seller protection. Here's how it works:

  • Your Facebook post includes a link to your RPG Market listing
  • Interested buyers click the link to view the full listing on RPG Market
  • They complete the purchase through RPG Market's secure checkout
  • You get paid through RPG Market's payment system
  • Both you and the buyer have purchase protection and dispute resolution

Yes! When you mark a listing as sold on RPG Market:

  • The RPG Market listing will automatically show as "SOLD"
  • You should manually delete or mark the Facebook post as sold
  • Or use the extension's "Mark Sold on Facebook" feature (coming soon)

This prevents confusion and keeps your Facebook presence professional.
